Trent Massey, owner and lead instructor
Trent began his career as a property adjuster for State Farm Insurance after graduating from the University of North Texas in 1986. There, he was classically trained and worked in the field adjusting all property and casualty claims, including large losses, liability, catastrophe, and served as an investigator in their arson/fraud investigation unit and supervisor in catastrophe team management. In the past 33 years, he has served in various other roles including an independent adjuster, agent, insurance trainer, and reconstruction contractor. In 2008, he became a full time property insurance instructor/trainer. In 2015, he started TruMass Learning which is now Adjusters & Contractors Performance Training. Trent has spoken across the United States at various insurance and construction industry conferences such as PLRB, NAMIC, PCS Catastrophe Conference, CPCU Society, Restoration Industry Association, and more. He has presented on issues including claim estimating, claim technologies, green risks, and claim soft skills. He has done numerous webinars at the Insurance Journal's Academy of Insurance. Trent has been a guest lecturer at UNT and UTD, holds several industry credentials including Associate in Claims (AIC), Green Risks Professional (GRP), Fire and Smoke Restoration Technician (FSRT). He is a past LEED Green Associate, Water Restoration Technician, and Corporate Social Responsibility Practitioner. He has been a licensed adjuster since 1998 (also 1986-94). In the early 1990's he had a real estate inspector's license while as a full time State Farm adjuster too. Today, in addition to training, he owns Trent Massey Roofing and Reconstruction, a general construction company in the Dallas/Fort Worth area which specializes in hail, wind, fire, and water damage reconstruction.
